2023 ARTS EXPO

ARTWORK

The 2023 prizes will be awarded to Artworks that have not been exhibited in previous awards or prizes.

There is no theme.
 

Works are to be no larger than 100 x 100 cm and must be able to be lifted by two people.

Artists can submit up to 6 pieces for the exhibition.
 

ADMINISTRATION FEE

Entry fee is $20 (including GST) per artist and is non-refundable. Any application not accompanied by the appropriate entry fee or proof of payment will be ineligible.
 

Payment must be made by either cash or bank transfer when completing the entry form.
 

Wyalkatchem CRC or WSAG will not store any payment details, nor share your information with a third party. A tax invoice/receipt will be issued for each entry.
 

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  1. All artworks submitted must be the original work of a citizen or permanent resident (at least 12 months) of Western Australia and completed in the 12 months prior to the closing date.
     

  2. All artworks must be for sale unless otherwise agreed by the Expo Committee and a 10% commission will be deducted prior to payment to the artist for any works sold.
     

  3. The Shire of Wyalkatchem $500 ACQUISITIVE ART PRIZE is open to citizens or permanent residents (at least 12 months) of Western Australia.  Works submitted must be the original work of the artist and completed in the 12 months prior to the closing date. Only entries priced at $500 or under will be eligible for this award.
     

  4. The JUDGES CHOICE ART PRIZE (non-acquisitive) of $600.00 is open to any artist who complies with Terms & Conditions 1. 
     

  5. The PEOPLE’S CHOICE PRIZE (non-acquisitive) of $400 is open to any artist who complies with Terms & Conditions 1. It will be judged by the public via a vote and announced at the completion of the exhibition.
     

  6. All other awards are open to any artist that complies with Terms & Conditions 1.
     

  7. Young Artist Award is open to artists under 18 years of age who have their parent or guardian co-sign their application form and who comply with the Terms & Conditions 1.
     

  8. To be eligible, all Entrants must submit a complete application to the Wyalkatchem Community Resource Centre by the due date. Entries received after this date will not be accepted.
     

  9. Applications can be sent via email to admin@wyalkatchemcrc.com or posted to:  ART EXPO - Wyalkatchem CRC, PO Box 156, Wyalkatchem WA 6485 and accompanied with a reference of your bank transfer of the Entry Fee.  (Reference should be the first 3 letters of your Surname plus the first 2 letters of your given name plus the date of payment. Or contact Wyalkatchem CRC for a hard copy entry form.
     

  10. All entries will initially be assessed by an appointed panel consisting of members of the Wyalkatchem Sunday Arts Group and Wyalkatchem CRC committee, which will ensure each piece is fit for the Exhibition. 
     

  11. The entry must be an original, uncopied work made solely by the practitioner 12 months prior to the application closing date. If the practitioner has been assisted by technicians or other artists they must be identified.
     

  12. Wyalkatchem Sunday Arts Group recognises that the authorship and copyright of the work displayed in the final exhibition belong to the artist.
     

  13. All Entrants must permit Wyalkatchem Sunday Arts Group to reproduce images of entered works in promotional material associated with the Art Expo and electronic exhibition. Wyalkatchem Sunday Arts Group will attribute the artist as the author of the work wherever the work is reproduced unless it is reasonable in the circumstances not to do so.
     

  14. The winner of the Shire of Wyalkatchem acquisitive prize will grant Wyalkatchem Shire a non-exclusive, perpetual copyright licence to reproduce the work for non-commercial purposes. Wyalkatchem Shire will attribute the Artist as the author of the work wherever the work is reproduced unless it is reasonable in the circumstances not to do so.
     

  15. Works may be dropped off and collected at the following sites -

  16. Entrants must arrange for delivery and pickup of their work to Wyalkatchem Community Resource Centre during opening hours 9am-4:30pm Mon-Fri, Or the works may be delivered to one of the other 4 pick-up and drop off points listed in Terms and Conditions 14. free of any costs.
     

  17. All works accepted must be displayed for the duration of the exhibition.
     

  18. All works will be insured by the Wyalkatchem Community Resource Centre during the exhibition. WCRC or WSAG will not accept liability for any loss or damage inflicted that occurs to works during transit.
     

  19. All works must come professionally prepared for hanging and display (suitably framed if applicable, D-rings and hanging wire) and free of dirt and insect contamination.
     

  20. Works must be marked clearly on the verso with Artist’s name, title of work and orientation (Please use artwork tags available on our website). Installation instructions must be included if necessary.
     

  21. All artworks must be collected from the WCRC or drop-off points within 2 weeks of the EXPO ending during business hours, as specified above. The WSAG will repackage artworks prior to collection using existing packing. If works are not collected by this date they will be stored at the Entrant’s expense.
     

  22. Judges for the Acquisitive and Local Prizes will be of appropriate credentials to make a critical assessment of the entries. The decision of the Judging Panel is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
     

  23. WSAG reserves the right to refuse display of any entry that does not meet the requirements outlined in Terms and Conditions, or any work it deems to be unacceptable for exhibition.
     

  24. In completing the entry form and paying the entry fee the Entrant agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
